10 Best Restaurants at Pattaya

Being home to an international community of expatriates and tourists from across the world, the cuisine available is similarly varied, with the predominant flavours being European and Thai. From amongst the hundreds of eateries in the area, we have selected the 10 Best Restaurants in Pattaya, primarily chosen on the merits of their food, service and atmosphere.

Cadillac Café & Bar, Wave Hotel

The Cadillac Café’s Miami Beach art deco style provides a fun and funky environment, which is reflected in the menu. High quality ingredients are put together in unexpected fusions which work remarkably well, such as the mighty wagyu burger. The special breakfast menu, available from 07:00 to 11:00, also includes the inventive use of unusual elements. At the same time, there are some good, wholesome American comfort foods like nachos, spare ribs and New York cheesecake, where the chef’s creativity has been restrained and the traditional recipes have been followed faithfully. Opening Hours: All day. Location: Wave Hotel, 310/2 Beach Road, South Pattaya. Tel: +66 (0)3 841 0577. Cuisine: American, International.

Bruno’s Restaurant & Lounge Bar

Round off your meal by relaxing in the separate lounge bar, which serves cocktails, spirits, beers and wine from the well-stocked temperature-controlled walk-in wine cellar. Sugar Hut Restaurant, Sugar Hut Resort

As part of the Sugar Hut Resort, this restaurant is set at the heart of a small forest, giving it a sense of seclusion and remoteness, despite it being in the middle of the city. At the end of a long, winding road, in an open teak building with gentle traditional music playing, truly remarkable Thai food is served in an amazingly relaxed atmosphere. Far from the common, severely limited foreigner-friendly selection, the menu includes exotic ingredients and recipes. These are prepared with great care and attention to detail, creating a unique experience. Opening Hours: All day. Location: 391/18 Thappraya Road, Jomtien. Tel: +66 (0)3 825 1686.

Café des Amis takes great pride in the freshness of their food, boasting that their imported meats, lobsters, oysters, mussels, salmon and Foie Gras are never frozen. Special dishes are therefore subject to availability and should be pre-booked if possible. French haute cuisine cooking has been combined with a romantic Thai-Balinese house with a beautiful garden, soft piano and vocal jazz music and a bar with over 150 spirits and liqueurs to create a cosy, unique, exclusive experience. Opening Hours: 16:45 – late (except Sun). Location: 391/6 Thappraya Road Soi 11, Jomtien. Tel: +66 (0)84 026 4989. Cuisine: French, International.

Casa Pascal

The owner of Casa Pascal takes great pride in his food. He can often be seen mingling amongst the diners, checking to see that all is well and explaining about how he uses only the very finest ingredients. This includes regular special shipments of rarities such as Atlantic lobsters and European mushrooms or truffles. There is also a daily brunch buffet and barbecue served outdoors. While the menu is varied and includes a small amount of Thai food, the seafood is the source of the owner’s greatest pride – and deservedly so. Opening Hours: 08:00 – 14:00, 18:00 – 23:00. Location: 485/4 Pattaya Second Road, South Pattaya. Tel: +66 (0)3 872 3660.

Mata Hari

An exquisite fine dining eatery, the reputation of Mata Hari is well-known throughout Pattaya. With such specials on the menu as smoked eel, homemade Terrine de Foie Gras, venison fillets and Dutch milk-fed veal, it is not difficult to see why. Like its namesake, much of Mata Hari’s fare is of Dutch origin, but with influences from around Europe. There is also a top-class Thai menu available, containing the same quality ingredients and expert preparation. With a choice of an intimate interior or tranquil al fresco seating, Mata Hari creates an exotic, romantic experience – also much like its namesake. Opening Hours: 18:00 – 22:30 (except Mon). Location: Thappraya Road, Jomtien. Tel: +66 (0)3 825 9799. Cuisine: European, Thai.

Radius Restaurant, Cape Dara Resort

The cosy, romantic setting of the Cape Dara Resort’s Radius Restaurant gives unique views across Pattaya Bay, particularly from the comfortable outdoor seating where diners can enjoy the cool sea breeze with their breakfast or watch the amazing sunset with their dinner, making this one of the best restaurants in Pattaya for a romantic meal. If you favour the substantial and equally varied buffet, there are live cooking and carving stations as well as ovens for fresh tandoori and pizzas. Opening Hours: 06:00 – 22:30. Mantra Restaurant & Bar, Amari Ocean Pattaya

At the open kitchen, you can watch the sushi chef at work alongside the pizzaiolo while you enjoy an Indian curry and one of over 160 wines from all over the world. The buffet service is also amongst the best in the city. While the comprehensive menu does make choosing which of the many delights you would like a challenge, it also makes this a great place to bring large, international groups. Opening Hours: 17:00 – 01:00. Location: Beach Road, North Pattaya. Tel: +66 (0)3 842 9591. Cuisine: International.

Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar, Royal Cliff

The dimly-lit, hushed atmosphere of the Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar gives it an air of exclusivity and seriousness. This is a not a restaurant where food is eaten and beverages are drunk, but where tender steaks, lovingly-prepared, are enjoyed while fine wines from an extraordinary selection are savoured. It is the sort of place you would be embarrassed to order a beer with your well-done steak. Continuing the mentality of the hotel it is a part of, it is a place where quality is the paramount consideration. Opening Hours: 18:30 – 22:30 (except Tues) Location: Royal Cliff Resort, Pratumnak Hill Tel: +66 (0)3 825 0421 (ext. 2007) Cuisine: Western.
